1. Overview

At ZB Consulting Ltd (‘ZBC’, ‘we’ or ‘us’), we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (which also includes our Cookies Policy) describes the basis on which we process any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us. We only process your data in the ways and on the bases described in this policy.  ZBC processes your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Please read this Policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. This policy is published in July 2022. We may update it from time to time, and you should check periodically to ensure that you are aware of its contents.

2. What is personal data?

Personal data is any information which identifies an individual, either directly or indirectly, and which is provided in the context of commercial services.

3. Information we may collect from you

ZBC processes your personal information to meet our legal, statutory and contractual obligations and to provide you with our services. We will never collect any unnecessary personal data from you and do not process your information in any way other than described in this Policy.
You are not required to provide any personal information to access our website.
In providing you with services and in carrying out our business, including ensuring that we meet our legal obligations, we may collect and process different sorts of data:

  • Email address
  • Office address
  • Information that you provide if you apply for a role with us
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence
  • Identity checks where necessary to comply with our anti-money laundering and counter terrorist finance procedures
  • Identity checks if you make a request in respect of your personal data
 
We collect information in various ways. These are:

4. How we use your personal data

ZBC will never disclose, share or sell your data without your consent, unless required to do so by law, or in accordance with this Policy. We only retain your data for as long as is necessary and for the purposes specified in this notice.
 
The purposes and reasons for processing your organisational or personal data are detailed below:

  • To enable us to communicate with you to provide market insights and industry information which we believe will be of interest to you (i.e. “Newsletter”).
  • To enable us to communicate with you effectively and efficiently at any point whilst you are applying for a job.
  • To enable us to communicate with you to inform you about our projects.
  • To enable us to operate our website smoothly and efficiently to give you a good user experience.
  • To enable us to provide you with an effective service, matching your needs with those of potential clients.
  • To enable us to effectively use Google Analytics.
 
5. Newsletter

You may receive newsletters from ZBC if you have consented to receiving this kind of information, are in a business relationship with ZBC, or have expressed an interest in receiving news updates from us.
We will only process your email address to send timely newsletters that are relevant to your line of business. The contents of any newsletter are intended to be informative only, and are not intended to solicit, offer, recommend or advise you.
Your email address is collected and processed either because you chose to subscribe to our newsletter via our website or following a meeting with one of ZBC’ employees who explicitly asked for your consent to add your email address to our distribution list.
You are free to opt-out or object at any point in time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link, which can be found below every email newsletter, or by contacting us. There will be no charges for doing so other than the cost of transmitting the opt-out or objection at your provider’s base rates. Should you have any questions about this notice, wish to ask us what data we may hold on you, wish to change/restrict/delete any of your data we may hold in our systems (Customer Relationship Management “CRM”, email marketing, email distribution lists, etc.), please contact us at: dataprotection@zbcltd.com
 
6. Your rights
 
You have the right to access any personal information that ZBC processes about you and to request information about:

  • What personal data we hold about you
  • The purposes of the processing
  • The categories of personal data concerned
  • The recipients to whom the personal data has or will be disclosed
  • How long we intend to store your personal data for
  • If we did not collect the data directly from you, information about the source
 
If you believe that we hold any incomplete or inaccurate data about you, you have the right to ask us to correct or complete the information, which we will do as quickly as possible, unless there is a valid reason why we can’t. In that case, we will contact you to notify you. 
You also have the right to request erasure of your personal data or to restrict processing in accordance with data protection laws, as well as to object to any direct marketing from us and to be informed about any automated decision-making we engage in. You have the right of appeal to a supervisory authority if the personal data were not collected from you.
We may ask you to verify your identity before we carry out any request.

7. Sharing and disclosing your personal information

We do not share or disclose any of your personal information without your consent, other than for the purposes specified in this notice or where there is a legal requirement.
ZBC uses third parties to provide a range of services and business functions, however all processors acting on our behalf only process your data in accordance with instructions from us and comply fully with this Policy, data protection laws, and information security protocols.
We may transfer your data outside of the UK but within the EEA, as part of our services, in order to communicate with you if you are based in the EEA, or if you apply to work with us. If you are based outside of the EEA, we will communicate with you.
We may also transfer your data outside of the EEA as part of the service we provide to you, in which case we will ask you to consent to that explaining the risks that may entail for the protection of your data.
We use Wix for hosting our website, Microsoft OneDrive as our cloud solution and Zoho for our deals management.
 
8. Legal basis of processing

We collect and use your personal data to enable us to conduct our business with you and to comply with the law. The basis we rely upon for lawfully collecting and using your personal data will depend on the purposes for which we are processing your personal data:

  • We rely on your consent as our lawful basis for processing your personal data when we provide you with marketing information. You can let us know at any time that you no longer wish to receive information about our services.
  • We also rely on consent as our lawful basis for processing personal data you provide us with about your business as part of our provision of services to you.
  • We rely on the lawful basis of our legitimate interest as a business, when we develop new services, carry out internal research and analysis, carry out risk assessments, due diligence and managing your account.
  • We rely on the lawful basis of legal obligation to process your data where we are required to provide that information to a regulator or if otherwise required by law
 
When we do business with you, we process your personal data to provide you with our services, for administrative purposes, to comply with legal requirements, and to provide you with marketing information.
 
9. How long we keep your data

ZBC only ever retains personal information for as long as is necessary and we have strict review and retention policies in place to meet these obligations. We regularly review changes in the organisational data we hold and have processes enabling us to delete invalid data regularly.
 
10. Cookies
​
Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to your device by websites you visit. They do various things, such as allowing you to navigate between pages efficiently, storing your preferences, and providing you with a good user experience generally, by making your interaction with the website quicker and simpler.
Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting (local cookies) or they may be set by other websites who run content on the page you are viewing (third-party cookies). ZBC only uses a limited number of local cookies, essential to the operation of our website, but we do not use any user data in any way.
You may refuse the use of cookies or withdraw your consent at any time by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. Please note that removal of cookies may affect your use and experience of our website.
 
11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with the way we have dealt with any request about your data in a timely and appropriate way, you can complain to the Information Commissioner (which is the UK’s data protection regulator) on their helpline number: 0303 123 1113.
